Job Description
Position Title: Quarry Manager
Department: Quarry
Location: Athens, AL
Essential Job Functions: - Develop and execute strategic plans for quarry operations to meet production goals and business objectives.
- Oversee daily operations including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing, and material handling.
- Monitor and optimize operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.

- Implement and enforce safety procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and lead safety training programs.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure that extracted and processed materials meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Monitor financial performance, track production costs, and implement cost-control measures.
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
- Aid coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements: - Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quarry operations or mining, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, and material processing.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a quarry environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying materials, as well as climbing and inspecting equipment.
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards
- Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
- Requires personal transportation to job sites
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
